Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation has become a very popular procedure in recent years, corresponding with the rise in popularity of dermal fillers. Candidates for the procedure include younger patients who desire fuller and more veloptuous lips, as well as patients who want to restore the volume and shape that has been lost with age. Lip augmentation can have effects beyond the lips themselves, and make the face look younger, softer and more appealing.

Lip augmentation can be done safely in the office under topical or local anesthesia. Dr. Horowitz commonly uses Juvederm to enhance the lips. The results of soft tissue augmentation using injectable fillers are apparent immediately.

Immediately after treatment, you may experience some mild swelling or bruising, or a slightly "over-filled" appearance to treated areas.  With topical icing, these conditions will improve within a matter of hours or just a few days. The results of lip augmentation can last as long as 3-6 months.
